SUTIVAN - LOŽIŠĆA - NEREŽIŠĆA

Western part of Brač has many interesting things and attractions and Mother Nature was especially playful.

Sutivan is one of the smallest municipalities in Croatia and is situated on the far west of the island. Bells, stone houses and palaces preserved the original look and make the sight of this place irresistible. Particularly interesting are the old streets called Kogule, which were made of pebble sea stone. Thanks to good trails and events throughout the year, today Sutivan is increasingly recognized as an excellent bike destination.

After the tour of the old core and the walk through the Kogula street , we will have an indispensable break by the sea with a gentle breeze.

Built on the stone and from the stone, Ložišća are situated on a steep slope. The beautiful bell tower of the church of St. John and Pavel dominates and especially stands out surrounded by small stone houses. At the top of the Great Valley, at the place where the river once flowed, there is a bridge from the time of Austrian administration and the locals like to call it the bridge of Franz Joseph.

In the natural environment of its own vineyards and olive groves there is Turanj tavern. This tastefully decorated family type Dalmatian tavern with its many antique exhibits has two illuminated bowling grounds, an outdoor terrace in the olive grove and a stone polished cottage over 150 years old. A variety of Brač specialties are prepared with traditional recipes and the most recommended are „meat peka“ and homemade wine.

In the heart of the island lies one of the most amazing places in the world. Apart from Blaca desert, unique in this area, Nerežišća is home to some other natural phenomenons. In the center there is a church of St. Peter and Paul and because of his tree growing on the roof called Brač Bonsai is one of the most interesting attractions on the island of Brač. Not far from Nerežišća you will be surprised by the huge rocks of a very unusual look that reminds you of a cake, so it is no surprise that the locals called it Koloč. Urban legend says it fulfills the wishes!
