Postira - picturesque fishermen harbor

Postira is a picturesque fishing village located on the northern coast of the island of Brač.

Narrow streets give the place a special charm and numerous stone houses in the harbor testify to the former landowners of Brač. Among them is the citadel of Lazanić family, in which the Croatian poet Vladimir Nazor (1876-1949) was born.

An unusual street called kogul leads to the parish church of st. John the Baptist built in the mid-16th century. Below it, the remains of an early Christian basilica from the 6th century were found.Other archeological sites also bear witness to the long history of Postira: Mirje on Mali Brig hill, where the early Christian monastery complex was found, and Lovrečina, also one of the most beautiful sandy coves, where the early Christian church from the 5th century is located.

Plenty of accessible beaches along the town, well-maintained promenades, parks, various activities such as cycling, quad and kayak tours, organized excursions, restaurants and taverns with delicious local dishes are just a part of rich offer.
